Job Description
 
Casa Systems, Inc. seeks to hire a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team in Andover, MA. The Senior Accountant impacts the organization by performing a range of accounting and special projects relating to and for our Chinese and international subsidiaries. As a key member of the Finance Team, this position requires a strong understanding of U.S., China, and international GAAP and tax, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for timely and detailed account reconciliations, internal control assessment and documentation, and participation in financial reporting. This position will work closely with the internal accounting team in China and global network of external accounting and tax providers, and participate in and/or lead special projects and business process improvement initiatives.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Actively and proactively participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close for the company’s Chinese and international entities.
  • Responsible for the weekly, monthly, and quarterly preparation of international cash and investment account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Responsible for weekly sales, order, and backlog reporting and analysis.
  • Review monthly and quarterly reconciliations of China and international accounts receivable and participate in the period end assessment and review of bad debt reserves and accruals.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly revenue recognition for China under US and China GAAP, including preparation of work papers and reconciliations of deferred revenue and cost of sales.
  • Review of all Casa China revenue contract documentation for revenue recognition application.
  • Review and/or prepare fixed asset reconciliation, fixed asset roll-forward, and document the fixed asset accounting policies, processes, and controls for the Company’s Chinese and international entities.
  • Review prepaid asset reconciliations and document the related accounting policies, processes, and controls.
  • Perform reconciliation and analysis of other income and expense and gains or losses on foreign currency.
  • Review and analyze of Chinese and international expense activity in support of global accounting and financial analysis and prepare supporting reconciliations and accounting analysis and documentation as required.
  • Review and analyze of global expense activity in support of tax accounting and income tax compliance and prepare supporting reconciliations and accounting analysis and documentation as required.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations of intercompany payables and receivables activity for Chinese and international entities.
  • Coordinate reviews and prepare quarterly documentation for inventory and warranty reserve calculations.
  • Collaborate with China and US accounting teams and international accountants to improve and streamline close processes and reduce time required to complete quarterly close.
  • Prepare and maintain US GAAP to local international GAAP analysis and US GAAP and local international GAAP to tax analysis.
  • Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Support internal audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Support the US accounting team in various accounting and financial reporting projects and analysis.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures including participation in the design and testing of internal controls.
  • Participate in business process assessments, business process improvement initiatives and related Implementations.
  • Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members in delivering high quality, decision ready information to our business partners wherever needed.
  • Perform special purpose and/or ad hoc analyses as required.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience (mix of private and public accounting experience preferred).
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S., Chinese, and international GAAP accounting and reporting.
  • Understanding of U.S., Chinese, and international income tax accounting and reporting.
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience applying revenue recognition accounting under topic 605, including ASU 2009-13, ASU 2009-14 and ASC 985-605.
  • Fluent written and verbal Chinese and English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to China and other international locations on a regular basis.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work cross functionally and cross border.

  • High degree of dedication to process improvement and strong sense of ownership.
  • Initiative to implement changes and curiosity to enhance knowledge and skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
