The Senior Network Engineer - Advanced Services will provide deep technical expertise, installation, customization and training as well as provide ongoing support to our rapidly growing Tier 1 customer base.

 

This immediate opportunity exists for motivated, hard-working network engineers with engaging personalities who enjoy interacting with customers. If you are knowledgeable about enterprise networks and are enthusiastic about working with and inside customer networks, this is the role you are looking for. We will provide the training necessary to help you become an expert on NetBrain’s industry leading software. 

 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform customer network and business audits in preparation of NetBrain deployment.
  • Perform post-sales installation, configuration and customization of NetBrain software in customer networks.
  • Train and assist customers on using the many features of NetBrain software to manage their network.
  • Recommend immediate and permanent problem remediation strategies in order to provide the greatest benefit possible per customer project.
  • Participate in pre-sales web demonstrations of NetBrain software for prospective customers consisting of network engineers and network managers.
  • Provide mentorship to junior network engineers in the areas of network foundational knowledge and NetBrain software use cases.
  • Partner with NetBrain’s technical support team providing support to customers via web meetings, phone or email.
  • Liaise closely with the development teams in order to incorporate new technologies and improve the product portfolio.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in one of the following: network design, network management, enterprise network operations, traffic optimization, network resource planning, or network security
  • Well-versed (certifications are a plus) in the areas of major vendor router or switch configurations (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Brocade, et Al.)
  • Desired device specific knowledge – Cisco (IOS, NX-OS, ASA), Juniper (JunOS, NetScreen), Palo Alto, VMware
  • Desired protocol specific knowledge – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, MPLS, SNMP, Etc.
  • Comfortable with CLI level configuration and management of network devices
  • Experience with operating systems, databases, and applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of conveying ideas and applying knowledge to challenging tasks
  • Strong technical presentation skills
  • Experience with developing template configurations for Quality of Service, VoIP, low latency topology transition, secure tunneling, etc a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of WAN/LAN topologies, traffic composition, quality of service, secure tunneling and WAN switching (MPLS, ATM, FR, etc) a plus
  • Strong grasp of Network Management tools such as HP OV, Riverbed/Opnet, Solarwinds, Splunk
  • CCIE a plus
